Hi there.

My name is Sean Hayford O’Leary. I’m a senior at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota — about an hour south of Minneapolis. Sean Hayford O’Leary. Photo by Travis Chantar. I have been designing websites commercially since 2004, specializing in WordPress-based sites.

I am not just a graphic designer. I’m a web designer. What’s the distinction? A “good” website design is more than what you see. The websites I design are built on standards-compliant HTML and CSS. This means that the same design is compatible with more browsers, loads faster, and is more searchable than a non-standards-based site. The overwhelming majority of the sites I’ve created (including this one) run on carbon-neutral hosting. These are the sorts of things good design is about. And of course, I like to make my sites look good, too.

Cost

My standard rate for web design and development is $60/hr. A basic site can take as little as ten hours or $600. Of course, while a price can be standard, a project never is. I offer lower-priced options as a client requires. The best way to get an idea of what your site will cost is to contact me.

Where

I am available to meet face-to-face with clients in the Twin Cities area. Though less common, it is possible to do a site without meeting in person — I have worked with clients as far away Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.

Other Work

While I primarily work in design, I also offer other computer assistance (machine setup, upgrades, data migration, and training) to residents of Northfield and Dundas. The rate for this is $30/hr plus a mileage fee.
